We had some business in Seattle last week. And although I wasn’t keen on going….(thought I would stay home and have a “quilt-in”, I had a GREAT time. I think it is true, sometimes it is good to “get out of Dodge” as the old cowboys used to say.
Was able to check out 3 quilt shops in and around Seattle. Thoroughly enjoyed them. So if you get a chance , check out the Quilting Loft in Ballard. Great modern selection of fabrics and a happy place.
Also, another favorite was Undercover Quilts in Pike Place Market. It is a small space with LOTS of great things. Great patterns and kits available with themes from Alaskan style runners , Mckenna Ryan designs, wonderful batik kits with lots of different colorways, and even 5 kits by Undercover quilts….exclusive!!!! IMAGNE my heart skipped a beat at all those blues in one kit!!) And yes, notions and jelly rolls….and and and. Just FUN. If you are in the area….worth a trip, or check them out on line.
Did have to laugh….as we checked out one shop, but it was out of business and all boarded up. (didn’t do my homework on that one!!)
Now I am home and awaiting a package with blue batiks in it…..and a pattern/kit. Will post it when it arrives. Just the cutest pattern.
Spent some time checking out the Seattle Art Museum, and so my creative mind is swirling with ideas…..
hope to get some of those into a quilt project. Stay tuned!
Enjoy your creative time
